300,000, of course, is an estimate. The press release from the Department of Homeland Security went on to explain how it’s making efforts to find these children and punish the evildoers (my words, not theirs).
300,000 is a staggering number and I pray these children are reunited with their families and their captors brought to justice. But, I cannot help but put these numbers next to the number of tiny babies, the ones still in the womb, that are killed through the collusion of our federal government that subsidizes the killing facilities with taxpayer’s moneys, the Medical school graduates who act as the contracted killers, and the silence of those who know it’s murder but are satisfied to settle with abortion’s being legal, safe and rare. Many of these people would argue that they are going along with the current “legal” status until they can slowly but surely change the minds of people in positions to present new bills.
This method of cutting back the number of abortions has failed miserably and, so far, most of the bills that get proposed end with, “and then you can kill the baby.” It may be 12 weeks or 16 weeks or the risk of the life of the mother or even if the child was conceived in rape that changes the bill.
Back to the numbers. The estimated number of babies killed in the womb since 1973 when Roe v Wade “legalized” abortion (it has never been legal according to God’s Law) is over 73,000,000. Now, there is no way to know if that is a rounded up number or a rounded down number. The truth is that the “pro-choice” crowd isn’t all that concerned about a million babies one way or another.
A recent newsletter from abolitionists who go to a Planned Parenthood in Tennessee to try to reason with Mothers about not killing their babies and presenting the Gospel to them said that last week – 1 week – 81 babies in their town were killed. 38 of those were surgically torn apart (the rest of the mothers took the pills home to kill their babies).
What should we do? How should we think? The abolitionists report that many (more than half) of the women they talk to headed into a building to end the life of their own babies claim to be Christians. “”You shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13) has not been removed from the scripture.
These women (and the fathers) can try to hide their babies from the world but the Lord has already seen and knows the heart of the one putting him/her to death.
Christian sisters (and brothers who may read this), let’s start at the Church of Jesus Christ. Do the people, old young, male and female, know that abortion is murder? Sadly, many have been “educated” to think not. Hopefully, we can change the number of Christians who abort by teaching them God’s truth.
Spreading that sphere of influence outside the Church, the possibilities are endless to talk about abortion as murder, to be honest about how staggering the numbers are and still increasing. Will we look for and vote for people who will work toward abolishing abortion, contacting our own “representatives.” People in the time of slavery were certain they would never change he laws but through the work of faithful abolitionists, it was done. In the arena of abortion, the only numbers that are small are the numbers of faithful Christians willing to be out at the Planned Parenthoods (or other local “clinics”) on the days they are offering surgical abortions pleading with mothers not to kill their babies. Many Christians are complacent with regard to this issue. Do we think that God cannot count or that He will let all of this innocent blood go unpunished?

Are we as guilty of some of those baby’s deaths by our silence as is the Mother paying that contracted killer to do the dirty work? God counts repentance and faithfulness for our favor.
