For the record, I did not hear Ms. Bondi say this and “fact checkers” have debunked the quote but, the lack of any prosecutions has me convinced that it represents her stance. At the very least, it says much about current affairs that such a quote is plausible.  A lot of evil has been exposed and not one arrest has been made!

I thought I wasn’t going to be interested in this whole thing. But, as I was listening to a podcaster give some of the names involved, I realized that we (as a nation) allowed all this evil.

When Bill Clinton was president (1993-2001) and the whole Monica Lewinsky issue arose, so did the thinking that “Character doesn’t matter.” As an unbeliever at the time even I knew it was ridiculous but it was repeatedly argued that what a man does in his personal life should not affect the way we look at his professional (or political) achievements. The Bible takes our character more seriously. 

I ache to think about how many children (male and female apparently) have suffered because we put men without character in public offices and they took full advantage of anything offered to them. It may also be that men of decent character were elected but were enticed into situations that led them astray. Can we not help but ask why they sold their souls and gave up their character?

The sad part of this is that now we have the opportunity to be screaming that it is time to take down a system  that allows pedophilia and even Satanic sacrifice, and only a few are saying it.

If we can learn anything from this whole debacle, can we learn that character matters a lot?! We cannot entrust our futures, our finances, or our vulnerable children to men and women with no character, no instinct or desire to protect the innocent or to prosecute the guilty.

Look at God’s law! His concern for the victim is far more important to Him than the way the economy will look if we take out evil doers.

When God tells us in Ephesians 5:11 “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” I don’t think that He meant for our response to be “Well, will you look at that,” and go back to our business.

We are not to be hearers only of God’s Word, we are to do what it says (James 1:22). God says rapists deserve the death penalty (that is to be issued by the state). We won’t even send them to trial.

To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20)
